The ECRE Annual General Conference took place in Prague on 9-11 October. Almost 100 representatives of refugee-focussed civil society organisations participated in the three-day event to discuss some of the most pressing issues in asylum, namely, Europe’s response to the Syrian crisis, access to protection in Central Europe and the impact of austerity and legal aid cuts on refugee protection. The Director of UNHCR’s Bureau for Europe and the Chairman of EASO’s Management Board gave the keynote speeches and the programme was complemented by workshops and film screenings.

Live-tweeting from the conference can be seen here or with the hashtag: #ECRE2013.

ECRE wishes to thank all those who attended for their participation and looks forward to the next Annual General Conference in Brussels.
