The EU End FGM campaign will be running a free-of-charge e-learning tool on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) at the Amnesty International EU Office in Brussels on Thursday 27 June from 12.00 to 14.00. The session will give information and practical advice aimed at raising awareness and improving knowledge among health professionals and asylum decision makers in Europe, as well as NGO staff, in particular from women’s organisations and shelters offering support and protection to women and girls affected by FGM.

An estimated 500,000 women and girls living in the EU are affected by FGM each year, with a further 180,000 at-risk. Meeting the needs of these women and girls requires that the asylum, health and social support systems of EU Member States offer appropriate and accessible high quality services.

The project is coordinated by the Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies (MIGS) in partnership with Family Planning Association Portugal (APF), the Italian Association for Women in Development (AIDOS), and Akina Dada Wa Africa (AKIDWA) in Ireland and is funded by the Human Dignity Foundation and the END FGM European Campaign.

To attend the course, please register here before Friday 21 June.
