ECRE's Annual General Conference is held annually in Autumn and is attended by approximately 100 representatives from the refugee-assisting community in Europe. The AGC  is a key moment for the Alliance, as it provides the Secretariat with general direction for the coming year and allows Members to guide ECRE’s policy and advocacy positions, based on their national experience. The AGC is an ideal opportunity for ECRE Members from all over Europe to interact on both a professional and social level.

We have put together a programme that will address a variety of issues of concern to us all, such as the Arab Spring, detention, and the role of the Council of Europe to safeguard the right to protection. Having selected Malta as the strategic location for the AGC, participants will get a thorough overview of the situation of refugees and asylum seekers in Malta and hear from the recently established EASO. There will be a variety of workshops held at the AGC dealing with topics such as detention, statelessness, external dimension, vulnerable groups, integration and fundraising. Elections to the ECRE Board will also take place.

The registration fee for the 2011 AGC is 360 euro. This fee covers all meals as per the programme, accommodation for the 12th and 13th and the renting of conference facilities throughout the event. Please note that travel costs are not included in this fee and that it is the responsibility of the participating organisation to organise their travel to Malta.
